I am one of the pioneers of the micro computer revolution. I
bought my first micro in 1977 and set about learning to use it.
In the process of learning to make the computer more or less bend
to my wishes I became a very proficient programmer and problem
solver.
I have worked with a number of languages including BASIC, PASCAL,
C, PROLOG, LISP, and assembler. I have worked on a wide range of
computers including IBM PC's, Apple II, MacIntosh, CP/M, Radio
Shack (all models including XENIX) and IBM System 34. I am expert
in BASIC on MSDOS. I have also done a great deal of work in
PASCAL and PROLOG. I have a good understanding of C and I have
written a number of utilities using it.
I have done a great deal of work with transfer of data and
programs from one unrelated computer system to another. For
example one BASIC program for auctioneers runs with very little
change on IBM PC, Radio Shack models 1, 2 & 3 and CP/M.
Data communications includes transfer of text among several type
setters, and computer systems. An example is one newspaper I
freelance for I write on an IBM PC then transfer to a Radio Shack
Model 3 and then it is transferred to a Compugraphic type setter.
Other examples include micro to Mini and micro to mainframe hook
ups.
I have written a broad range of specialized accounting software.
Including receivables, inventory, auction cashiering. The most
complex program I have worked with is an tracking system for an
embryo transplant firm. The system tracks ownership, location and
status of transplanted embryos. The embryo transplant system
consist of over two hundred files and programs.
